College Counseling

Support for when college feels like too much to manage on your own.

Our Approach

College can bring freedom, pressure, and uncertainty — all at once. You’re balancing academics, relationships, identity, and the pressure to have it all figured out. When stress builds or motivation fades, it can be hard to know where to start.

At OtherKind, we help college students and recent graduates make sense of the transitions they’re navigating — without judgment or clichés. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, burnout, or relationships, our clinicians help you build the clarity and coping skills to move forward with confidence.

Our college counseling work combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and relational techniques to help you manage stress, build balance, and connect your daily actions to what actually matters to you.

Sessions are collaborative and structured — a space to understand what’s driving your stress and to practice concrete tools that help you manage it.

What College Counseling Helps With

  • Academic pressure, procrastination, or burnout
  • Anxiety or panic related to performance or uncertainty
  • Difficulty adjusting to college or transitioning post-grad
  • Relationship challenges, breakups, or communication issues
  • Sleep, motivation, or concentration problems
  • Questions around identity, belonging, or purpose

College counseling helps you develop emotional awareness, stress management tools, and healthy boundaries so you can handle change without losing yourself in it.

What to Expect

Therapy is structured and focused on growth, not perfection.

  • Phase 1 – Clarify: Understand what’s happening — identify stressors, emotions, and core challenges.
  • Phase 2 – Build Tools: Learn CBT and ACT-based strategies for focus, resilience, and anxiety reduction.
  • Phase 3 – Apply: Practice using those tools in real-world situations — exams, relationships, and decision-making moments.

Progress is measured along the way, so you can see how you’re improving and where to keep working.
